Kinsmen, Associates Pay Tribute To Senator Annie Okonkwo: SGF Akume, Peter Obi, Utomi, Akpabio On Roll Call

Senator Annie Okonkwo is among individuals that leave so much behind that it becomes difficult to eulogize them. Where to begin?

The sad news is unbelievable; the shock is numbing and the reality of it is scary. Senator Annie Okonkwo, and Agunechemba Ojoto fits into that category perfectly. I met him twice at different times but feel like I knew him so much after reading his numerous accomplishments as a family man, business mogul, political strategist, philanthropist, Christian soldier, socialite and so on.

My husband described him as a relatable gentle giant after we received him and his lovely wife at the residence of Mrs Chiko Udemba (nee Ugokwe).

I was actually contemplating writing a biography on him but deferred it to a later day when I would get a chance to chat with him and his wife. Wow! Life is so transient!

Agunechemba was an accomplished man who lived a life filled with the desire to build something out of nothing in people. His business network extended beyond Ojoto.

The conglomerates he established employed thousands and he will be remembered by many. His legacy as a businessman is indelible.

Eternal rest grant Agunechemba O Lord, and let your perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.
