Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission  (INEC), Prof Mahmood Yakubu, who is the chief returning officer of the presidential election declared Tinubu as the winner of the polls which opposition political parties have described as a sham, calling for the cancellation of the exercise.

According to official results announced by INEC, Tinubu polled 8,794,726 votes beating the other three leading candidates in the election – Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, Obi of LP and Rabiu Musa Kwankaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

LP, PDP, and some other political parties have rejected the results of the presidential poll, claiming that it was compromised.

“I intend to address Nigerians and the international community shortly,” stated in a tweet, Wednesday afternoon.
