Updated: Over N206.57 billion Gained By Nigerian Stock Investors In One Day

The stock market capitalisation appreciated by 0.69 per cent or N206.57 billion to close at N30.14 trillion on Monday, 27 February 2023, rising from N29.93 trillion reported last week Friday, 24 February 2023.

It was learnt that the All-Share Index increased by 379.21 basis points, from 54,949.21 ASI to 55,328.42 ASI.

Over 149.78 million shares were traded on Monday in 3,186 deals, worth N1.54 billion. This was against the 302.83 million shares exchanged on Friday, in 2,820 deals worth N2.50 billion. 

Top five gainers 

  • Stanbic IBTC appreciated by N3.45kobo, rising from N34.50kobo to N37.95kobo per share.     
  • Oando rose by N0.40kobo to end trading at N4.40kobo, after opening at N4 per share.   
  • C&I Leasing followed the same path, gaining N0.33kobo after trading hours, to sell at N3.63kobo from N3.30kobo per share.     
  • Conoil reported an appreciation of N4.25kobo from the previous day’s share price of N42.60kobo to end trading at N46.85kobo per share.     
  • MRS’ share value increased to N33.50kobo from N30.55kobo, after gaining N2.95kobo during trading hours. 

Top five losers 

  • FTN Cocoa depreciated by 6.90 per cent, dwindling from N0.29kobo to N0.27kobo per share.     
  • UPDC also fell by 4 per cent to end trading at N0.96kobo, after opening with N1 per share.   
  • Japaul Gold followed the same path, losing 3.45 per cent after trading hours, to sell at N0.28kobo from N0.29kobo per share.     
  • Transcorp reported a decline of 3.08 per cent from the previous day’s share price of N1.30kobo to end trading at N1.26kobo per share.     
  • Mutual Benefit’s share depreciated to N0.32kobo from N0.33kobo, after losing 3.03 per cent during trading hours.      

Top five trading equities in the stock exchange 

  • Oando reported 14.28 million shares valued at N62.64 million were traded on its floor       
  • Transcorp recorded 11.71 million shares valued at N14.73 million     
  • Fidelity Bank saw investors trade 10.73 million of its shares valued at N53.74 million     
  • Chams recorded 10.29 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N2.85 million     
  • UBA reported 9.10 million shares, valued at N77.14 million, exchanged investors’ hands
