Fully Loaded Container Falls, Blocks Road In Apapa

A fully loaded 40ft container, fell off the truck conveying it and blocked a road at the Lagos Port Complex, Apapa.

Eyewitnesses said the driver of the truck exhibited poor maneuvering skills while moving the container out of the port and  lost control.

The container was severely dented after falling off the truck.

Meanwhile the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has been called upon to rehabilitate roads within the port to reduce the rate of truck accidents.

“He tried to be careful but still climbed the strip, leading to the accident. NPA should try and reconstruct this road. This strip (the road median) should not be there because it is not giving enough way to the trucks,” a source told Prime Business Africa.
