NFF Set To ‘Blacklist’ Enyimba Keeper Noble From Super Eagles

Following his outburst in the media over his unpaid bonuses by the Nigeria Football Federation, Prime Business Africa has scooped home-based goalkeeper John Noble is likely to be blacklisted from the Super Eagles.

Noble was part of the Eagles that played in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon where Nigeria were eliminated in the round of 16 after a 1-0 defeat to Tunisia but is now facing a backlash over the bonus row.

The Enyimba goalkeeper did not receive his $25, 000 bonuses unlike his foreign-based teammates.

Prime Business Africa gathered on Saturday that the rest of the players received theirs two months ago.

President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusau who came into office on September 30 after the electoral congress is yet to respond to the issue.

A senior member of the team according to a source close to the national team revealed that Noble failed to receive his share of the bonus because he provided a “wrong dollar account” to the Nigeria Football Federation.

“Noble was first called up in March 2021 for Benin/Lesotho Afcon qualifiers. He got his dues in that same dom account.

“For other international engagements, NFF paid him through that same account. However, when it came to paying the big one, he was told he sent a wrong details,” the source, who was a onetime fourth official in a Nigeria Professional Football League game revealed.

The Super Eagles will regroup again March for the restart of the of 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The team failed to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and finished the year 2022 as the fifth best national team in Africa and 35th in the world.

The Eagles are three-time African champions of the Africa Cup of Nations and are runners up in over five editions.
