Nigeria’s U-23 Eagles Begin Ibadan Training Ahead AFCON 2023 Qualifiers

Nigeria’s U-23 national men’s team in football on Monday, 10 October 2022 began trainings ahead of the 2023 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifiers against Tanzania.

The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations next year serves as qualifiers for the football event of the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.

The team currently in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital are expected to depart for Dar es Salaam, for the first leg match scheduled for the weekend of 21st – 23rd October.

The U-23 Eagles became the first African and black nation to win the football event of the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996.

A total of 32 players were invited by head coach Salisu Yusuf and will take part in an intensive one-week training before they depart the shores of Nigeria in a week’s time.
