Saka Wins England’s Men’s Best Player Award

Arsenal forward of Nigerian descent Bukayo Saka has won the England Men’s Player of the Year award for the 2021/2022 season which is for first time reports Prime Business Africa 

The 21-year-old beat Tottenham Hotspur’s star Harry Kane and West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice to win the award on Friday having shown a superb display of his talent over the course of the past year.

He was presented the award by a group of young local grassroots players.

The England star had no idea that it was to be awarded to him, and in his grateful shock, he smiled and humbly said: “No way. I did not expect this honestly, so yeah, I’m honoured. It’s really nice.”

Saka was in action for England in their UEFA Nations League defeat to Italy Friday night which the Three Lions lost 1-0 at the San Siro.

England has thus been demoted to the Group B of the tournament
