Bulls Charge Ahead As NGX Shatters Records As Market Cap Surpasses N50trn

Over N18.89 billion was wiped from the market capitalisation on Monday, after the Nigerian stock market dipped -0.07 percent.

Due to the loss, the equity capitalisation depreciated to N26.66 trillion from N26.68 trillion.

At the end of trading, the All-Share Index fell from 49,475.24 ASI to 49,440.21 after losing 35.03 basis points. 

Investment on the exchange floor fell to 67.36 million shares on Monday, with 3,386 deals, worth N1.48 billion, sealed. 

It was in contrast to the 197.45 million shares, worth N2.94 billion, traded in 3,462 deals on Friday 

Top five gainers 

  • ETranzact share appreciated by N0.29kobo to rise from N2.91kobo to N3.20kobo per.
  • Academy stock grew N0.16kobo, up from N1.68kobo to N1.84kobo per share.
  • Vitafoam ended trading with N21 from N20 per share, rising by N1.
  • Honeywell Flour gained 3.36 percent to end trading at N2.46kobo, having opened with N2.38kobo.
  • Cornerstone stock was up by 3.33 percent, closing with N0.62kobo from N0.60kobo per share. 

Top five losers 

  • Associated Bus Company (ABC) depreciated by 10 percent, dwindling from N0.30kobo to N0.27kobo per share.
  • UPL also fell by N0.17kobo to end trading at N1.63kobo, after opening with N1.80kobo per share.
  • Mutual Benefit followed the same path, losing 6.90 percent after trading hours, to sell at N0.27kobo from N0.29kobo per share.
  • RT Briscoe reported a decline of 6.25 percent from previous day’s share price of N0.32kobo to end trading at N0.30kobo per share.
  • Courtville share depreciated to N0.46kobo from N0.49kobo, after losing 6.12 percent during trading hours. 

Top five trading equities in stock exchange

  • FBN Nigeria reported 9.67 million shares valued at N96.55 million were traded on its floor.
  • Zenith Bank recorded 9.25 million shares valued at N182.38 million.
  • GTCO saw investors trade 6.11 million of its shares valued at N120.39 million.
  • Mutual Benefit recorded 4.48 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N1.24 million.
  • Sovereign Insurance reported 2.95 million shares valued at N797,719 exchanged investors’ hands.
