Peseiro Names Musa, Ekong, Ndidi, 22 Others For Algeria Friendly

Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro has named 25 players including captain Ahmed Musa and vice captain William Troost Ekong as Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi for the international friendly against  former African champions Algeria in Oran on September 27.

Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye makes his way back to the fold after an injury-induced layoff  while the returning party include Henry Onyekuru, Taiwo Awoniyi, Chidera Ejuke and Kelvin Akpoguma.

Club Brugge midfielder Raphael Onyedika is, making his debut.

Both nations failed in their quest to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and the friendly is part of  preparations ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers that restarts in March.

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Athletic Bilbao striker Sadiq Umar are ruled out through injuries and have been replaced by Cyreil Dessers and Terem Moffi.

The team will open camp for the friendly next week Monday.
