Peter Obi Meets Obasanjo, Wike, Other PDP Governors In London

August 25, 2022

Labour Party standard bearer Peter Obi met eminent Nigerians in London including former President Olusegun Obasanjo for a meeting that borders on the 2023 general elections reports Prime Business Africa.

Others in the meeting include Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu all of whom are of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as well as former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke.
Senator Olaka Nwogu was also in attendance at the meeting which is held less than a week after All Progressives Congress flagbearer Bola Ahmed Tinubu and some PDP Governors including Wike had met.
The PDP Governors and  former Cross Rivers State number one citizen, Duke, seemingly championed by Governor Ortom are in the Wike camp and are reportedly keen to see Iyorchia Ayu removed as the Party’s Chairman as prerequisite for them to back the candidacy of Atiku Abubakar.
There have also been insinuations amongst some sections of Nigerians that the meeting in London is linked to a possible merger of some parties with the Labour Party.
