A10-man Chelsea side were beaten 3-0 by Leeds United on Sunday at Elland Road which was the Blues’ first league defeat to their opponents for 20 years.

Thomas Tuchel’s team were pressed back to their own half from the outset and their determination paid off in the 34th minute when Leeds midfielder Brenden Aaronson caught Chelsea keeper Eduoard Mendy off guard as he attempted to control a routine backpass from Brazilian centreback Thiago Silva.

Rodrigo headed in a free-kick shortly after that opener and Jack Harrison added a third from close range in the second half.

Senegalese Kalidou Koulibaly received a second yellow card late on for bringing down Joe Gelhardt to compound the eprs of the west London side.

England youth international of Nigerian descent Carney Chukwuemeka was on the substitute bench throughout the entire match.
