Bournemouth 0 -3 Arsenal: Ordegaard Grabs Brace, Saliba Nets First EPL Goal

August 20, 2022

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard scored twice in the opening 11 minutes as Arsenal outclassed newly-promoted Bournemouth for a 3-0 victory at the Vitality Stadium to move top of the Premier League on Saturday ahead of North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in second place.

The win was the first time in 18 years that the Gunners will win three consecutive Premier League games at the start of the season.

Ordegaard opened the scoring after five minutes following good work by Gabriel Jesus and doubled their lead from Ben White’s low pull back.

Bournemouth failed to have a shot or touch in Arsenal’s penalty area in a one-sided first half and they were only marginally better in the second period.

William Saliba stroked the ball across the goal after an assist fr Granit Xhaka for the third goal.

The VAR was required to confirm if Jesus had scored the fourth for the Gunners but his lovely effort was overruled.

Just 12 months ago, Arsenal lost their first three league games in the club’s worst start to a season for 67 years.
