Two suspects have been arrested by men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State Command, for alleged diversion of 33,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) also known as petrol.

This was recently made known by the Public Relations Officer of the command, Oluwole Olusegun, in a statement in Ibadan.

He said the suspects were arrested at about 3:00p.m. on Wednesday on Iseyin/Saki road with a blue Leyland DAF truck with registration number EKY 189 XV.

Olusegun further said that the suspects were arrested by the Anti-Vandal unit of the command.

He quoted the state NSCDC Commandant, Michael Adaralewa, as saying that the command had re-strategised by improving on intense patrol of crime-prone areas in the state to combat acts of criminality.

Adaralewa said that the suspects confessed to the crime, adding that they would be charged to court after completion of thorough investigation.

The commandant warned those indulging in petroleum diversion and other illegal dealings in the state to desist from them as the command would not relent in dealing with the perpetrators.

“The command has zero-tolerance for criminalities hence all perpetrators are to either relocate out of Oyo State or face the wrath of the law ”, he said.
