Team Nigeria’s Nathaniel, Amene Reach 400m Men’s Semis, Adewale Falters

Nigeria’s Samson Nathaniel on Wednesday afternoon ran a time of 46.32 seconds to finish in second place to qualify for the semifinals behind Kenya’s Boniface Mweresa in Heat 3 of the Men’s 400m of the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham reports Prime Business Africa.

There was a bit of delay in the release of the results as there was a possible retrospective punishment for any of the athletes who may have come short of the rules.

In Heat 4 of the 400m Men’s race, Nigeria’s Dubem Amene also came second to book a place in the semifinals in a time of 46.77 seconds to achieve an automatic qualification spot behind England’s Matthew Hudson-Smith in 46. 27 seconds.

However, Sikiru Adewale Adeyemi could not finish in the top three places in Heat 5 as he could only finish his race in 4th place to narrowly miss out from the semis.

Adeyemi’s season’s best this year is a time of 46.93 seconds.
