Recalcitrant rising music artiste Habeeb Okikiola best known as ‘Portable’ has vehemently insisted that he is not regretting utterances that culminated in his disqualification by the organisers of the 15th edition of the Headies Music Awards.

The musician was nominated alongside FAVE, AV, Mafixx, Ugoccie in the ‘Best Street Artiste’ and ‘Rookie of the Year categories.

The award ceremony is scheduled for Sunday 4th September 2022 but was initially slated for July 2.

Portable in his Instagram story reacted to Tuesday’s disqualification.

“I’m a child of light. I have fame, I have money, I have cars, I have wives, I have children. I am rich.

“People know me everywhere. I don’t regret my actions,” Portable insisted.

The controversial musician had on May 25 threatened to kill other nominees in the same categories if he did not win.

“Those are my awards. Anybody else who wins, I will call for them to be killed,” he said.

Consequently a statement from the Headies organisers revealed that he will not be in contention for any of the categories.

“We regret to announce that following numerous indicating statements made by Mr Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as ‘Portable’, and the incessant negative attention that Mr Okikiola has garnered from the Nigeria Police and the general public in recent times, the organisers of the Headies have resolved to disqualify Mr Okikiola as a, nominee at the forthcoming 15th Headies Awards.

Portable had also confirmed that he was the one who created the notorious ‘One Million Boys’ in Lagos saying: “I am the founder” albeit he recanted his statement by saying he meant ‘one million followers’ on Instagram after the Inspector General of Police, Baba Alkali ordered the Lagos State Police Command to commence an investigation into his activities.
