Former Youth International Presents Jersey To President Buhari

Former Flying Eagles forward Saviour Godwin on Thursday presented a branded jersey to President Muhammadu Buhari on his official visit to Portugal.

Godwin plays his football for Portuguese side Casa Pia and was one of the privileged Nigerians who were present to welcome President Buhari.

Godwin, whose team just gained promotion to the Portuguese Liga presented the jersey to Buhari as ne meets the Nigerian community with the Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare and Chairman of Nigeria in the Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Davido-Erewa also in attendance.

The onetime youth international was a regular performer last season as he took the Portuguese second division by storm and helped his club gain promotion to the first division.

Porto defender, Zaidu Sanusi is another Nigerian in the division but was absent at the presentation.

Super Eagles defender, Chima Akas was also present at the presentation of the jersey which had “M.Buhari 1” on it.

Saviour was a member of the winning U-17 national lteam in 2003 in the UAE.

Super Eagles defender Omeruo also presented a similar jersey to Buhari when he visited Spain.
