Super Eagles Set To Depart For Marrakech Ahead Sao Tome And Principe Game

Nigeria’s Super Eagles will jet off to Marrakech, Morocco on Saturday evening for their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday two encounter against the Falcons of Sao Tome and Principe on Monday, Prime Business Africa reports.

The Eagles will play away against Sao Tome and Príncipe in 72 hours time at their Moroccan makeshift home in Marrakech.

The Super Eagles defeated Sierra Leone 2-1 on Thursday evening at the MKO Abiola stadium in Abuja to start their Group A qualifying campaign on a bright note.

Jose Peseiro’s team are however second on the log after the São Tomé and Principe were hammered 5-1 by Guinea-Bissau.

Monday’s fixture is the first time ever the Eagles and São Tomé and Principe will clash in world football.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles resumed training Friday evening at 6pm inside the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja ahead of Monday’s clash.

Meanwhile centre back William Troost-Ekong has been ruled out of the Sao Tome & Principe clash due to groin injury.

The Super Eagles vice captain has left camp and back to London to start treatment in preparation for the upcoming season.
