Informed sources in Nigerian presidency and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have confirmed to Prime Business Africa that the National Working Committee (NWC) will at tomorrow’s (Wednesday) meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) tender its new timetable, including an adjusted sequencing for primary elections, for approval.

The high point of the sequencing in the adjusted timetable is that governorship primaries will now take place before the presidential primary.

While governorship primary is now scheduled to hold on May 18, 2022, Presidential primary will be conducted on Monday, May 30 to June 1, , 2022. Primaries for House of Representatives and Senate will hold on May 22 and May 24 respectively.

The party’s national congress holds between May 30 and June 1, 2022.

State House of Assembly primaries, according to the revised recommendation of the APC NWC, will hold on May 20, 2022.

The revised timetable, according to informed sources, indicates that the  NWC will also be asking tomorrow’s NEC meeting to approve a list of requirements for nomination of candidates, including the demand for payment of N100,000,000 by those aspiring to run for the office of the President, among others.

President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to attend Wednesday’s NEC meeting, even as the ruling party plans to hold its  national Congress, where a presidential candidate will emerge  between May 30 and June 1
