Heavy Traffic On Apongbon Bridge As LASTMA Wades Into Market Inferno

There is  heavy traffic on the  Apongbon Bridge as Lagos business owners at the Under Bridge Market count their losses following a fire incident that destroyed shops and property worth millions of naira on Wednesday morning.

An eyewitness was heard telling a road user to come down from their car and walk.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) announced via a tweet that the fire outbreak had resulted in slow movement of motorists and advised on alternative routes.

“Motorists who are yet to connect Eko Bridge are advised to use alternative routes such as Third-Mainland Bridge and Carter Bridge.

“Emergency Responding Agencies like Fire Service, LASEMA, LASTMA are all on ground.

The emergency workers have also urged traders trying to salvage their goods from under the bridge to leave for their safety.
