Super Falcons Depart Abuja For Abidjan Ahead AWCON 2022 Qualifier

Nine-time African Women’s champions, The Super Falcons on Sunday morning departed Abuja via the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport for Abidjan to honour the second leg of their 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations qualifier against the Lady Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire to be played on Wednesday.

The Nigerian team on Friday evening defeated the Ivorians 2-0 at the Moshood Abiola stadium, Abuja courtesy of Ifeoma Onumonu’s brace.

The Falcons will qualify for the tournament in Morocco with a draw or a win but must avoid their hosts overturning the 2-0 first leg win with a three-goal or more aggregate victory.

The semifinalists at the AWCON in Morocco will represent Africa at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
