The South East’s startup pipeline moves from promise to cheques this month as the Venture Capital Programme, SEVCP, hosts its Grand Finale and Investment Ceremony in Enugu.

The two-day event, set for May 25–26, 2026, will cap a region-wide pitch competition that drew over 1,000 applications. From that pool, the most promising startups have advanced to the final stage and will pitch live before investors, operators, and ecosystem leaders.

Organisers say the finale is more than a demo day. It is an investment event. Winners will be announced on stage, with capital awards to be disclosed during the ceremony. Founders will pitch their ventures in real time, while fund managers, angels, and corporate partners assess deals and partnerships.

“This is where innovation meets capital,” a statement from SEVCP read. “We are bringing founders, investors, and key stakeholders together to showcase what the South East is building and to back it with investment.”

What to expect in Enugu

1. Live pitches from top startups in the SEVCP cohort, spanning fintech, agritech, health, logistics, and enterprise tech.
2. Investment awards announced to founders at the venue, closing the competitive process.
3. Deal rooms and networking with investors, operators, and ecosystem leaders focused on South East opportunities.
4. Insight sessions on emerging innovation trends and capital flows in the region.

The SEVCP pitch process was designed to surface investable companies from the five South East states and back them with early-stage funding and support. The May finale marks the first public rollout of investment outcomes from the programme.

The event starts 9am daily at a yet-to-be-disclosed venue in Enugu.
