NGX Market Cap Down By N606bn, Traders Seal N50bn Deals

The market capitalisation of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) hit N140.43 trillion on Monday, April 20, rising from N139.82 trillion on Friday, April 17.

Also, the all-share index (ASI) expanded from 217,167.57 ASI to 218,113.84 ASI.

Investors on the NGX traded N50.76 billion for 983.94 million shares in 76,410 deals, compared to the 1.25 billion shares traded in 56,923 deals, valued at N54.35 billion, on Friday.

Top five gainers

  • NAHCO’s share price increased by N22, from N220 to N242 per share.
  • Union Dicon’s share value grew by N1.65 kobo, from N16.50 kobo to N18.14 kobo per share.
  • Fidelity Bank’s share appreciated by N2 to end trading at N22.05, having opened with N20.05.
  • TransExpress ended trading at N6.65 kobo per share, from N6.05 per share – indicating an increase of N0.60 kobo.
  • Access Holdings’ share value was up by N2.95 kobo, after closing at N32.85 kobo from N29.90 kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • LivingTrust share price depreciated by N0.41 kobo, dwindling from N3.69 kobo to N4.10 kobo per share.
  • Stanbic IBTC recorded a N18.85 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N169.70 kobo after opening with N188.55 kobo per share.
  • Transcorp Power lost N30.20 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N272.70 kobo from N302.90 kobo per share.
  • Abbey Mortgage Bank recorded a N0.80 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N7.30 kobo after opening with N8.10 kobo per share.
  • Guinea Insurance reported a decline of N0.11 kobo from the previous share price of N1.25 kobo to end trading at N1.14 kobo per share.

Top five trading equities

  • Access Holdings reported that 91.64 million shares valued at N2.97 billion were traded on its floor.
  • First Holdings recorded 70.16 million shares valued at N4.77 billion.
  • Zenith Bank saw investors trade 54.92 million of its shares valued at N7 billion.
  • Lasaco recorded 53.75 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N107.49 million.
  • UBA reported that traders exchanged 52.56 million shares valued at N2.65 billion.
