The value of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), also known as the stock market, increased to N132.49 trillion on Tuesday, April 14.
The NGX valuation increased by N883.46 billion from the N131.60 trillion recorded on Monday, April 13.

On the trading floor, 569.30 million shares were exchanged in 45,777 deals, valued at N32.24 billion, compared to the previous day’s 470 million shares traded in 60,793 deals, valued at N32.44 billion.
Top five gainers
- Stanbic IBTC’s share price increased by N14.70 kobo, from N147 to N161.70 kobo per share.
- Ecobank’s share value grew by N4.60 kobo, from N46 to N50.60 kobo per share.
- NGX Group’s share appreciated by N15.30 kobo to end trading at N168.75 kobo, having opened with N153.45 kobo.
- Cornerstone ended trading at N5.64 kobo per share, from N5.13 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N0.51 kobo.
- Mecure’s share value was up by N6.10 kobo, after closing at N67.60 kobo from N61.50 kobo per share.
Top five losers
- Fortis Global Insurance share price depreciated by N0.10 kobo, dwindling from N1.22 kobo to N1.12 kobo per share.
- MCNichols recorded a N0.58 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N6.52 kobo after opening with N7.10 kobo per share.
- Academy lost N0.55 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N7.35 kobo from N7.90 kobo per share.
- International Energy Insurance recorded a N0.24 decline in its share price to end trading at N3.25 kobo after opening with N3.49 kobo per share.
- Guinea Insurance reported a decline of 5.83 percent from the previous share price of N1.20 kobo to end trading at N1.13 kobo per share.

- Access Holdings reported that 67.52 million shares valued at N1.74 billion were traded on its floor.
- Zenith Bank recorded 39.74 million shares valued at N4.5 billion.
- VFD Group saw investors trade 37.60 million of its shares valued at N422.98 million.
- GTCO recorded 30.56 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N3.79 billion.
- Lasaco reported that traders exchanged 26.3 million shares valued at N52.61 million.
