The Nigerian Exchange (NGX) recorded an increase of N515.68 billion in the market capitalisation on Tuesday, March 31.

This raised the bourse’s valuation to N129.20 trillion at the end of trading, from the N128.69 trillion market capitalisation reported on Monday, March 30.

Also, the all-share index (ASI) recorded a 803.35 basis points increase, rising from 200,484.43 ASI to 201,287.78 ASI.

On the trading floor, investors exchanged 887.68 million shares in 53,436 deals, worth N35.55 billion, compared to the previous day’s 593.25 million shares traded in 60,311 deals, valued at N25.64 billion.

Top five gainers

  • Multiverse’s share price increased by N1.65 kobo to rise from N16.70 kobo to N18.35 kobo per share.
  • International Energy Insurance’s share value grew by N0.28 kobo, from N2.95 kobo to N3.23 kobo per share.
  • Chams’ share appreciated by N0.34 kobo to end trading at N4.39 kobo, having opened with N4.05.
  • MTN Nigeria ended trading at N760 per share, from N718 per share – indicating an increase of N42.
  • LotusHal15’s share value was up by N7, after closing at N143 from N136 per share.

Top five losers

  • NPF Microfinance Bank share price depreciated by N0.70 kobo, dwindling from N7 to N6.30 kobo per share.
  • Skyway Aviation recorded a N15.85 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N143.10 kobo after opening with N158.95 kobo per share.
  • Zichis Agro’s lost N1.51 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N13.65 kobo from N15.16 kobo per share.
  • Mutual Benefits recorded a N0.45 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N4.09 after opening with N4.54 kobo per share.
  • RT Briscoe reported a decline of N1.06 from the previous share price of N10.71 kobo to end trading at N9.65 kobo per share.

Top five trading equities

  • Wema Bank reported that 184.13 million shares valued at N4.78 billion were traded on its floor.
  • VFD Group recorded 103.56 million shares valued at N1.19 billion.
  • NSLTECH saw investors trade 59.33 million of its shares valued at N63.75 million.
  • Chams recorded N38.55 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N151.97 million.
  • Access Holdings reported that traders exchanged 27.76 million shares valued at N720.08 million.
