NGX Market Cap Drops By N275bn After Legend Internet, Cutix Record Losses

On Monday, March 30, the market capitalisation of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) ended trading at N128.69 trillion, slightly below the N128.96 trillion the bourse closed with on Friday, March 27.

The market capitalisation had declined by N275.14 billion after the all-share index (ASI) decreased by 428.63 basis points.

This reduced the index to 200,484.43 ASI, from 200,913.06 ASI.

About 593.25 million shares were traded in 60,311 deals, valued at N25.64 billion, slightly below the 595.15 million shares exchanged in 43,440 deals, valued at N24.46 billion, reported on Friday.

Top five gainers

  • Austin Laz’s share price increased by N0.40 kobo to rise from N4.01 to N4.41 kobo per share.
  • Zichis Agro’s share value grew by N1.37 kobo, from N13.79 kobo to N15.16 kobo per share.
  • TransExpress’ share appreciated by N0.25 kobo to end trading at N2.84 kobo, having opened with N2.59 kobo.
  • TIP ended trading at N21.70 kobo per share, from N19.80 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N1.90 kobo.
  • Learn Africa’s share value was up by N0.80 kobo, after closing at N9.30 kobo from N8.50 kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • NSLTECH share price depreciated by N0.13 kobo, dwindling from N1.30 kobo to N1.17 kobo per share.
  • May & Baker recorded a N3.95 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N38 after opening with N41.95 kobo per share.
  • Legend Internet lost N0.65 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N6.85 kobo from N7.50 kobo per share.
  • Cutix recorded a N0.29 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N3.21 kobo after opening with N3.50 kobo per share.
  • Fortis Global Insurance reported a decline of N0.11 kobo from the previous share price of N1.38 kobo to end trading at N1.27 kobo per share.

Top five trading equities

  • Access Holdings reported that 86.64 million shares valued at N2.25 billion were traded on its floor.
  • First HoldCo recorded 84.55 million shares valued at N4.25 billion.
  • NSLTECH saw investors trade 31.12 million of its shares valued at N37.34 million.
  • Fidelity Bank recorded N26.73 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N512.40 million.
  • Zenith Bank reported that traders exchanged 26.12 million shares valued at N2.63 billion.
