NGX: Premier Paints Tops Gainers, ETranzact Leads Losers’ List

NGX Market Cap Down By N606bn, Traders Seal N50bn Deals

The market valuation of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), also known as the stock market, dipped slightly by N28.77 billion on Friday, March 27.

After trading, the market valuation decreased to N128.96 trillion, from the N128.99 trillion reported on Thursday, March 26.

This followed a 44.83 basis points decline in the all-share index (ASI), which dropped from 200,957.89 ASI to 200,913.06 ASI.

During trading, equity traders exchanged 595.15 million shares in 43,440 deals, valued at N24.46 billion, compared to the 678.12 million shares traded in 42,222 deals, worth N33.13 billion.

Top five gainers

  • Premier Paints’ share price increased by N3.40 kobo to rise from N34.10 kobo to N37.50 kobo per share.
  • Zichis Agro’s share value grew by N1.25 kobo, from N12.54 kobo to N13.79 kobo per share.
  • McNichols’ share appreciated by N0.67 kobo to end trading at N7.42 kobo, having opened with N6.75 kobo.
  • John Holt ended trading at N18.95 kobo per share, from N17.25 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N1.70 kobo.
  • TransExpress’ share value was up by N0.23 kobo, after closing at N2.59 kobo from N2.36 kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • ETranzact share price depreciated by N2.30 kobo, dwindling from N23 to N20.70 kobo per share.
  • Abbey Mortgage Bank recorded a N1.10 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N9.90 kobo after opening with N70 per share.
  • Cadbury lost N7 in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N63 from N37.50 kobo per share.
  • Eterna recorded a N3.75 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N33.75 kobo after opening with N37.50 kobo per share.
  • DAAR Communications reported a decline of N0.19 kobo from the previous share price of N2 to end trading at N1.81 kobo per share.

Top five trading equities

  • Wema Bank reported that 131.48 million shares valued at N4.45 billion were traded on its floor.
  • Legend Internet recorded 41.57 million shares valued at N339.16 million.
  • Zichis Agro saw investors trade 35.21 million of its shares valued at N485.57 million.
  • Access Holdings recorded 29.42 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N764.81 million.
  • Japaul Gold reported that traders exchanged 21.51 million shares valued at N74.55 million.
