On Monday, March 2, the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) recorded a N1.72 trillion increase in its market capitalisation, which rose to N125.48 trillion from N123.76 trillion on Friday, February 27.

The market capitalisation increased by 1.39 percent after the all-share index (ASI) expanded by 2,687.46 basis points, from 192,826.77 ASI to 195,514.23 ASI.

Over 789.84 billion shares were exchanged in 84,259 deals, worth N35.07 billion, compared to the 823.82 million shares traded on Friday in 63,759 deals, valued at N34.75 billion.

Top five gainers

  • FGSUK2033S6’s share price increased by N47 to rise from N99.99 kobo to N147 per share.
  • NGX Group’s share value grew by N12.40 kobo, from N124 to N136.40 kobo per share.
  • Aradel Holdings ended trading at N1,192.30 kobo per share, from N1,084 per share – indicating an increase of N108.30 kobo.
  • UHOM REIT’s share appreciated by N6.90 kobo to end trading at N76.15 kobo, having opened with N69.25 kobo.
  • Sovereign Insurance’s share value was up by N0.22 kobo, after closing at N2.43 kobo from N2.21 kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • Custodian’s share price depreciated by N6.80 kobo, dwindling from N68 to N61.20 kobo per share.
  • LOTUSHAL15 recorded an N14.49 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N130.61 kobo after opening with N145.10 kobo per share.
  • McNichols lost N0.84 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N7.63 kobo from N8.47 kobo per share.
  • Africa Prudential recorded a N1.75 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N16.20 kobo after opening with N17.95 kobo per share.
  • Chams reported a decline of N0.41 kobo from the previous share price of N4.50 kobo to end trading at N4.09 per share.

Top five trading equities

  • Fortis Global Insurance reported that 109.07 million shares valued at N109.15 million were traded on its floor.
  • Japaul Gold recorded 54.72 million shares valued at N218.86 million.
  • UBA saw investors trade 43.02 million of its shares valued at N2.05 billion.
  • Access Holdings recorded 30.69 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N799.43 million.
  • Oando reported that traders exchanged 28.51 million shares valued at N1.28 billion.
