Jaiz Bank, Beta Glass Lead Gainers’ List As NGX Market Cap Rises By N5.10trn

The equity market closed in positive territory for the second time this week as stocks rose by 0.04%. Investors traded N15.07bn worth of shares.

At the end of trading in the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), also known as the stock market, on Monday, February 16, the market capitalisation of the bourse closed at N122,12 trillion.

The NGX’s market capitalisation increased by N5.10 trillion from the N117.02 trillion reported on Friday, February 13.

The all-share index (ASI) appreciated from 182,313.08 ASI to 190,262.44 ASI, indicating an expansion of 7,949.36 basis points.

Investors exchanged 1,07 billion shares in 64,821 deals, valued at N64,02 billion, compared to the 936.39 million shares exchanged in 50,068 deals, valued at N52.72 billion, on Friday.

Top five gainers

  • Jaiz Bank’s share price increased by N0.83 kobo to rise from N8.30 kobo to N9.13 kobo per share.
  • Beta Glass’ share value grew by N41.20 kobo, from N412 to N453.20 kobo per share.
  • Ikeja Hotel ended trading at N41.80 kobo per share, from N38 per share – indicating an increase of N3.80 kobo.
  • ZICHIS Agro’s share appreciated by N1.08 to end trading at N11.88 kobo, having opened with N10.80 kobo.
  • Aradel’s share value was up by N99.70 kobo, after closing at N1,096.70 kobo from N997 per share.

Top five losers

  • LOTUSHAL15’s share price depreciated by N31.60 kobo, dwindling from N316 to N284.40 kobo per share.
  • RT Briscoe recorded a N1.74 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N15.68 kobo after opening with N17.42 kobo per share.
  • Deap Capital lost N0.84 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N7.64 kobo from N8.48 kobo per share.
  • Caverton recorded a N0.75 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N7.05 after opening with N7.80 kobo per share.
  • Guinea Insurance reported a decline of N0.14 kobo from the previous share price of N1.51 kobo to end trading at N1.37 kobo per share.

  • Access Holdings reported that 86.72 million shares valued at N2.25 billion were traded on its floor.
  • Oando recorded 73.49 million shares valued at N3.18 billion.
  • Zenith Bank saw investors trade 69.28 million of its shares valued at N5.93 billion.
  • Mutual Benefit recorded 67.10 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N289.11 million.
  • Japaul Gold reported that traders exchanged 49.17 million shares valued at N135.59 million.
