The Bank of Industry (BOI) achieved a landmark milestone in 2025, disbursing a record N636 billion to over 7,000 Nigerian enterprises, marking the largest annual financing in its history, President Tinubu announced on Thursday.

According to the President, the financing spanned multiple sectors, including N202 billion to agro-allied industries, N100 billion to critical infrastructure, N79 billion to manufacturing, N77 billion to extractive industries, and N55 billion to services.

“These are not abstract numbers. They represent factories expanding capacity, farmers linked to processors, power extended to communities, and businesses strengthened across our nation,” Tinubu said. “In a challenging global environment, Nigeria chose reform, discipline, and productive investment.”

The BOI’s 2025 Development Impact Report highlights significant achievements across business sizes and demographics:

  • Nano enterprises: N51 billion
  • Micro businesses: N32 billion
  • SMEs: N178 billion
  • Large industries: N375 billion

The interventions supported 1.6 million jobs created or retained, with 957,400 Nigerians benefiting from the Presidential Conditional Grant Scheme. Youth-owned enterprises accessed N12 billion, while women entrepreneurs benefited from a dedicated N10 billion facility.

BOI’s targeted programs further strengthened economic inclusion:

  • IDICE (Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises): Trained 400 youths through hackathons, supported 500 founders, and facilitated equity investments for 100 tech ventures.
  • GLOW (Guaranteed Loans for Women): Offered up to N50 million per beneficiary, reaching over 41,000 women entrepreneurs in 2025.
  • RAPID (Rural Area Programme on Investment for Development): Financed 880 rural agro-value chain enterprises across all 36 states and the FCT, creating over 8,000 jobs.

The report also shows BOI’s commitment to sustainable development, including the reduction of over 20,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions through operational projects, and expansion of power access via 100 mini-grids in rural communities, connecting 11,777 new customers.

In addition, the Bank mobilized €210 million (≈N350 billion) from international partners, with €125 million for healthcare and €85 million for agriculture and food security, and managed N73 billion in matching funds for states and institutional partners.

“The path to economic transformation lies in accessible, long-term capital. Through institutions like the Bank of Industry, we are empowering MSMEs, women-owned enterprises, youth innovators, and large-scale industries alike. Production remains our pathway to prosperity,” President Tinubu stated.

With a non-performing loan rate of less than 1.5% and expanded national coverage through 37 state offices (with 3 more planned in 2026), the BOI is positioning itself as a central driver of Nigeria’s industrial growth.

“Our Renewed Hope journey is moving from stabilization to structured execution and growth. The impact is clear, and the work continues,” the President said.
