The market capitalisation of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) increased by N1.36 trillion to N107.86 trillion on Wednesday, February 4, up from the N106.49 trillion reported on Tuesday, February 3.

Also, the all-share index (ASI) appreciated to 168,030.18 ASI, from 165,901.57 ASI, representing a 2,128.61 basis points gain.

Investors exchanged 694.78 million shares in 42,095 deals, worth N20.56 billion, falling below the 736.43 million shares traded in 46,026 deals, valued at N24.66 billion.

Top five gainers

  • FGSUK2032S7’s share price increased by N49.99 kobo to rise from N50 to N100 per share.
  • DAAR Communications’ share value grew by N0.17 kobo, from N1.70 kobo to N1.87 kobo per share.
  • Berger Paints ended trading at N66 per share, from N60 per share – indicating an increase of N6.
  • FTG Insurance’s share appreciated by 10 percent to end trading at N0.22 kobo, having opened with N0.20 kobo.
  • RT Briscoe’s share value was up by N0.95 kobo, after closing at N10.45 kobo from N9.50 kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • FGSUK2032S5’s share price depreciated by N49.99 kobo, dwindling from N149.99 kobo to N100 per share.
  • Redstar Express recorded a N1.90 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N17.15 kobo after opening with N19.0 kobo per share.
  • Deap Capital lost N0.76 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N6.86 kobo from N7.62 kobo per share.
  • UHOM REIT recorded a N7.65 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N69.25 kobo after opening with N76.90 kobo per share.
  • McNichols reported a decline of N0.72 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N7.25 kobo to end trading at N6.53 kobo per share.

Top five trading equities

  • Chams reported that 57.44 million shares valued at N256.31 million were traded on its floor.
  • Universal Insurance recorded 56.22 million shares valued at N88.75 million.
  • First HoldCo saw investors trade 35.32 million of its shares valued at N1.67 billion.
  • Deap Capital recorded 26.78 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N187 million.
  • Wema Bank reported that traders exchanged 26.66 million shares valued at N674.58 million.
