IMG, Union Dicon Lift NGX Market Cap By N332.48bn

The equity market closed in positive territory for the second time this week as stocks rose by 0.04%. Investors traded N15.07bn worth of shares.

Over N332.48 billion was gained in the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), also known as the stock market, on Tuesday, February 3, after the all-share index (ASI) appreciated 0.31 percent.

The gain was reflected in the market capitalisation, which increased from N106.16 trillion on Monday, February 2, to N106.49 trillion.

According to the NGX, the index expanded by 516.94 basis points, from 165,384.63 ASI to 165,901.57 ASI.

NGX reported that over 736,43 million shares, valued at N24,66 billion, were traded in 46,026 deals, compared to the 762.75 million shares traded in 55,374 deals, worth N18.40 billion, the day before.

Top five gainers

  • IMG’s share price increased by N3.15 kobo to rise from N31.50 kobo to N34.65 kobo per share.
  • Union Dicon’s share value grew by N0.90 kobo, from N9 to N9.90 kobo per share.
  • ZICHIS Agro ended trading at N5.06 per share, from N4.60 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N0.46 kobo.
  • Austin Laz gained N0.37 kobo to end trading at N4.07, having opened with N3.70 kobo.
  • LOTUSHAL15’s share value was up by N14.64 kobo, after closing at N161.05 from N146.41 kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • Omatek’s share price depreciated by N0.27 kobo, dwindling from N2.70 kobo to N2.43 kobo per share.
  • Cutix recorded a N0.35 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N3.15 kobo after opening with N3.50 kobo per share.
  • UHOM REIT lost N8.50 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N76.90 kobo from N85.40 kobo per share.
  • Sunu Assurance recorded a N0.51 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N4.62 kobo after opening with N5.13 kobo per share.
  • Deap Capital reported a decline of N0.84 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N8.46 kobo to end trading at N7.62 kobo per share.

  • GTCO reported that 65.89 million shares valued at N6.52 billion were traded on its floor.
  • Chams recorded 55.71 million shares valued at N249.75 million.
  • Custodian saw investors trade 49.81 million of its shares valued at N2.19 billion.
  • Universal Insurance recorded 36.04 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N51.54 million.
  • Zenith Bank reported that traders exchanged 35.42 million shares valued at N2.56 billion.
