Super Eagles forward Moses Simon is attracting the interest of Premier League side Newcastle United following his impressive Africa Cup of Nations outing in Cameroon.

The Nantes winger was unarguably Nigeria’s star player in the four games the three-time African champions prosecuted.

Newcastle United are desperate to remain in the English Premier League and reports in English tabloids, Sports Witness and TBR Football indicate that the Toons will make a move for the Nigerian if they avoid relegation.

The club made some decent signings in the January transfer window and will push the boat out again in the summer should they avoid the ignominy of going down to the Championship.

Newcastle United were said to be keen on Simon’s international teammate Victor Osimhen in a ₦28 billion move in January but the deal failed to materialise and are now looking at offering Simon a contract worth N57million in weekly wages.

The possible bid for Simon will mark the second time that the Magpies owners will be hoping to sign the Nigerian albeit their offer was rebuffed the first time.

However with new multi billionaire owners guaranteed to spend on good players, their fortune could be different this time.
