D’Tigress Edges Past France In FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifier

Nigeria enhanced their chances of qualifying for the 2022 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup on Friday evening with a narrow 67-65 win against France.

D’Tigress were defeated by China in their first group game by China which made their next two games against France and Mali ‘must wins’ matches.

Despite the politics bedevilling the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) thd Nigeria basketball national teams in the men’s and women’s teams have covered themselves in glory in recent tournaments.

With Friday’s victory, another win for the team against West African rivals Mali on Sunday will all but guarantee qualification to the Word Cup for the African champions should results go in their favour in other matches.

The FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup will hold in Australia between 22 September and 1 October 2022.
