Markets across Ibadan will shut down on Friday, September 25, as traders suspend business activities to honour the coronation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja.
The Babaloja General of Oyo State, Asiwaju Yekeen Abass, confirmed the decision on behalf of market leaders covering the city’s eleven local government areas.
He urged traders to attend the coronation ceremony at Mapo Hall, describing the market closure as a gesture of respect for the new monarch and a demonstration of unity within Ibadan’s commercial community.
