Over N478.83 billion was gained in the stock market capitalisation on Thursday, as the bourse’s valuation increased from N92.25 trillion on Wednesday, August 6, to N92.73 trillion on Thursday, August 7.

Also, the all-share index (ASI) expanded by 756.85 basis points to 146,570.71 ASI, from 145,813.86 ASI.

About N27.26 billion were exchanged in 35,291 deals for 1.98 billion shares, compared to the previous day’s 2.69 billion shares, worth N32.63 billion, traded in 35,137 deals.

Top five gainers

  • AIICO’s share price increased by N0.29 kobo, to rise from N2.90 kobo to N3.19 kobo per share.
  • UPL’s share value grew by N0.51 kobo, from N5.10 kobo to N5.61 kobo per share.
  • Mansard ended trading at N13.31 kobo per share, from N12.10 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N1.21 kobo.
  • Cornerstone gained N0.53 kobo to end trading at N5.83 kobo, having opened with N5.30 kobo.
  • Lotus Halal’s share value was up by N5.40 kobo, after closing at N59.40 kobo from N54 per share.

Top five losers

  • Chams’ share price depreciated by N0.32 kobo, dwindling from N3.22 kobo to N2.90 kobo per share.
  • Austin Laz recorded a N0.23 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N2.11 kobo after opening with N2.34 kobo per share.
  • Caverton lost N0.68 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N6.37 kobo from N7.05 per share.
  • UAC Nigeria reported a decline of N8.50 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N90 to end trading at N81.50 kobo per share.

  • Sterling Financial Holdings Company recorded 121.01 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N968.28 million.
  • Lasaco reported 58.72 million shares valued at N217.54 million were exchanged by investors.
