Sanwo-Olu Hails Lagosians For Peaceful LG Election

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has expressed gratitude to the people of Lagos State for their peaceful participation in Saturday’s local government elections.

The Governor commended the electorate for turning out to perform their civic duty, describing the conduct of voters across polling units as a testament to the enduring democratic spirit of Lagos.

“Your peaceful conduct, sense of responsibility, and turnout have once again demonstrated the true spirit of Lagos a State built on participation, progress, and people-centred governance,” Sanwo-Olu said.

He extended special appreciation to youths, elders, market women, artisans, professionals, and all stakeholders who voted “with dignity and orderliness,” adding that such actions reinforced Lagos’ reputation as the “Centre of Excellence.”

Sanwo-Olu also praised security agencies, the media, and officials of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) for their professionalism and dedication to ensuring a secure and credible electoral process.

“As we await the official results from LASIEC, I urge all candidates and political actors to remain calm, respectful, and law-abiding,” he stated.

The governor described the exercise as another “bold step” toward strengthening democratic governance at the grassroots, calling on residents to sustain the momentum in building a more inclusive, peaceful, and prosperous Lagos.

“Thank you for your trust, your voice, and your votes,” he concluded.
