Stock Market Cap Hits N70.89trn As SCOA, Honeywell Flour, Others Gain N259.48bn

The equity market closed in positive territory for the second time this week as stocks rose by 0.04%. Investors traded N15.07bn worth of shares.

At the end of trading on Tuesday, June 3, the valuation of the Nigerian stock market increased by N259.48 billion to N70.89 trillion, from N70.63 trillion on Monday, June 2.

Likewise, the all-share index (ASI) gained 411.53 basis points to expand from 112,015.95 ASI to 112,427.48 ASI.

On Tuesday, investors increased the volume of shares traded to 622.63 million, parting with N16,12 billion in 17,044 deals, compared to the 517.95 million shares traded by investors in 17,019 deals, worth N10.07 billion, on Monday.

Top five gainers

  • SCOA’s share price increased by N0.49 kobo to rise from N4.90 kobo to N5.39 kobo per share.
  • Honeywell Flour’s share value grew by N2, from N20 kobo to N22 per share.
  • SFSREIT ended trading at N226.60 kobo per share, from N206 per share – indicating an increase of N20.60 kobo.
  • IMG gained N3.35 kobo to end trading at N37, having opened with N33.65 kobo.
  • International Energy Insurance’s share value was up by N0.16 kobo, after closing at N1.79 kobo from N1.63 kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • Conoil’s share price depreciated by N29.80 kobo, dwindling from N298.10 kobo to N268.30 kobo per share.
  • Learn Africa recorded a N0.43 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N3.88 kobo after opening with N4.31 kobo per share.
  • Transcorp Hotels lost N14.70 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N132.80 kobo from N147.50 kobo per share.
  • Julius Berger reported a decline of N13.30 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N133.80 kobo to end trading at N120.50 kobo per share.
  • Chellaram recorded a N1.05 decline in its share price to end trading at N9.53 kobo after opening with N10.58 kobo per share.

  • Fidelity Bank reported that 108.17 million shares valued at N2.05 billion were traded on its floor.
  • Legend Internet recorded 60.95 million shares valued at N344.35 million.
  • UBA saw investors trade 55.73 million of its shares valued at N1.92 billion.
  • GTCO recorded 41.22 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N2.80 billion.
  • Access Corporation reported 34.51 million shares valued at N754.43 million exchanged in investors’ hands.
