Over N7.89 billion was lost in the stock market on Monday, May 19, as the equity capitalisation fell marginally from N68.95 trillion to N68.94 trillion.

Also, the all-share index (ASI) decreased to 109,697.83 ASI from 109,710.37 ASI, reflecting a loss of 12.54 basis points.

Furthermore, investors exchanged 486.08 million shares, valued at N11.38 billion, in 24,883 deals, against the 431.77 million shares traded by investors in 16,400 deals, valued at N8.59 billion.

Top five gainers

  • Tantalizer’s share price increased by N0.23 kobo to rise from N2.30 kobo to N2.53 kobo per share.
  • Ikeja Hotel’s share value grew by N1.40 kobo, up from N14 to N15.40 kobo per share.
  • Beta Glass ended trading at N258.50 kobo per share, from N235.05 per share – indicating an increase of N23.45 kobo.
  • Champion Brew gained N0.68 kobo to end trading at N7.50 kobo, having opened with N6.82 kobo.
  • NNFM’s share value was up by N11.95 kobo, after closing at N131.85 kobo from N119.90 per share.

  • TIP’s share price depreciated by N0.68 kobo, dwindling from N6.80 kobo to N6.12 kobo per share.
  • Associated Bus Transport recorded a N0.29 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N2.66 kobo after opening with N2.95 kobo per share.
  • UPL lost N0.43 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N3.97 kobo from N4.40 kobo per share.
  • FTN Cocoa reported a decline of N0.25 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N2.59 kobo to end trading at N2.34 kobo per share.
  • RTBriscoe recorded a N0.20 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N1.90 kobo after opening with N2.10 kobo per share.
