Former Anambra Governor Mourns Ex-Finance Minister Okongwu

The Former Governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi, says he is saddened by the death of Nigeria’s Ex-Finance Minister, Chu SP Okongwu, who was announced dead on January 12, 2021.

Obi said Okongwu was key to the general opening up and liberalisation of the economy, under General Ibrahim Babangida admiy, which saw a rise in private sector participation in the economy.

Sympathising with the Okongwu family and all who mourn his death, Obi urged them to put their hope in God, who alone gives and takes life. He prayed God to grant Late  Okongwu  eternal rest and give his family, the fortitude to bear his irreplaceable loss.
