According to the World Health Organisation (WHO) ,Gender based violence manifests in various forms like intimate partner violence, early marriage and childbearing, workplace harassment, as well as digital violence. The body further submits that these incidences rise significantly during armed conflicts, disease outbreaks or natural hazards that lead to large scale displacement, people living in camps, and with limited mobility for women and girls.

Recall that Barrister Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye during her days as minister was known for having zero tolerance for allocation of funds to projects that cannot impact directly on the people, especially women and children describing such acts as “waste of money.

She warned then against using huge amount of money to organise seminars instead of using part of it to empower women.
