Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, Nigeria’s Chidimma Adetshina says furthering her education and exploring new opportunities in modelling and acting, is the next line of project.

Chidimma who missed winning the Miss Universe 2024 crown by whiskers emerged first runner up in the prestigious event held in Mexico beating 120 other queens from across the globe in the bargain.

The 23-year-old who overcome daunting challenges to achieve her dream further revealed her decision to quit pageantry to focus on new goals.

In an interview with BBC on her return to Nigeria after the pageant, Chidimma added that she is also on the verge of relocating to Nigeria from her estranged country, South Africa.

“I want to put pageants aside for now and concentrate on my studies. I also want to explore other opportunities to establish myself,  I’m also looking forward to exploring runways, acting, and seeing where my potential takes me,”She enthused.

She had earlier taken reflected on her journey and performance at the 73th Miss Universe Pageant concluding that her feat represents what it means to have a dream come true. She had taken to her Instagram to express gratitude to her fans in Nigeria and in the diaspora for their support.

She wrote: “I came, I saw, and I shook the universe. Returning home as Miss Universe First Runner-Up and Miss Universe Africa & Oceania. “I’m filled with immense gratitude for Nigeria and Africa for believing in me and helping me reclaim my dreams. This is what it truly means for dreams to come true”

By virtue of her first runner up finish, Chidimma will be entitled to $3 million diamond crown, $100,000 Prize and a New York apartment one-year lease.
