Buhari said he was hopeful that both Guterres and Mohammed’s passion to promote peace, alleviate poverty, improve health and empower people would gain speed and results.

According to the statement, Buhari is positive that Mohammed’s stay in office will help encourage more women and the girl-child, particularly in Africa and Nigeria, to aspire to new heights of leadership and dream beyond the borders of their country.

Mohammed is a former Minister of Environment in Nigeria. Prime Business had earlier reported her reappointment as UN Deputy Secretary-General by Mr. Guterres.
