In a fresh move to address the ongoing crisis in Rivers State, Governor Siminalayi Fubara has set up a judicial commission of inquiry into incidents that led to the burning of three local government secretariats and killings that occurred on Monday.

This comes after Ikwerre, Eleme, and Emohua Local Government Council secretariats were set ablaze on Monday by hoodlums.

Prime Business Africa reports that the violence was allegedly orchestrated by loyalists of the immediate past governor and current FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, in the aftermath of the Saturday, 5 October local government election in the state.

Wike and Fubara had been at loggerheads for months over the fight for control of the political structure in the state.
