Donald Trump Faces Threats from Iran, Claims U.S. Military on Alert
Donald Trump, former U.S. President and current Republican candidate, revealed on Tuesday that U.S. intelligence officials have warned him of assassination threats from Iran.
According to his campaign, these threats are “real and specific,” with Iran allegedly targeting Trump to destabilise the United States.

“Real Threats” from Iran, Trump Campaign Says
According to Trump’s campaign, U.S. intelligence officials have briefed him on a coordinated effort by Iran to carry out the assassination.

While no specific details were shared, Steven Cheung, Trump’s communications director, stated, “Law enforcement across all agencies are working to ensure President Trump is protected and that the election remains free from interference.”
The Iranian government has not commented on the latest claims, though Tehran has previously denied accusations of involvement in U.S. internal affairs.
Social Media Response and Support from Congress
Trump has also expressed gratitude for bipartisan Congressional support in boosting Secret Service protection. “Thank you Congress for unanimously approving far more money to Secret Service – Zero ‘NO’ Votes,” Trump posted on X.
He emphasised that any attack on a former President carries severe consequences. “An attack on a former President is a Death Wish for the attacker!” Trump warned.
Past Assassination Attempts Linked to Trump
The alleged threats from Iran come after two known incidents this year. On July 13, Trump was injured in a shooting during a rally in Pennsylvania, where another person was killed. The motive remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.
Another incident occurred on September 15 at Trump’s golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, where a Secret Service agent spotted a rifle aimed through a fence. Trump was unharmed, and the agent responded with gunfire.
U.S. prosecutors have since charged Ryan Wesley Routh with attempting to assassinate Trump. Despite the claims of threats from Iran, there has been no confirmed link between Iran and either of these incidents.
Security Tightens Around Trump
Trump’s claims have reignited discussions about the former President’s security, especially as the 2024 presidential race heats up. Intelligence officials have reportedly seen an increase in coordinated attacks against Trump in recent months. Trump remains confident that law enforcement is prepared to deal with any potential threats.
“I have more personnel, guns, and protection around me than ever,” Trump declared, signalling his readiness for any future attempts on his life.
