ASUU Issues Three-Week Ultimatum For FG To Implement Agreement

Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has threatened to proceed on a nationwide strike if the Federal Government fails to implement the Memorandum of Action signed with ASUU in December 2020

ASUU President, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke stated this on Monday while addressing journalists in Abuja, that the three-week ultimatum is to allow the Federal Government to address all issues in the December 2020 Agreement.

“The union might be compelled to embark on another nationwide strike should the government fail to implement the Memorandum of Action signed with ASUU prior to suspension of the last industrial action.

“Federal Government is yet to address the issues of unpaid academic earned allowances and the universities revitalisation fund almost a year after the agreement was made.

The ultimatum is part of the resolutions reached during the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of ASUU held in the nation’s capital.
