Chidinma, whose father is a Nigerian and mother from Mozambique, was born in Soweto, South Africa, in 2001.

Her journey to winning Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 started after an incident that occurred in the recently concluded Miss Universe South Africa pageant in which she participated but was controversially disqualified over her nationality.

She subsequently accepted the invitation to participate in this year’s Miss Universe Nigeria pageant and eventually won.
