Usyk recorded a dramatic victory over Joshua in September after a unanimous decision to snatch the unified world titles away from Ogun state born boxer who represented Britain in the 2012 Olympics.

And Joshua faced criticism for the absence of his power-punching and aggressive style during the fight that has been a trademark of his boxing career.

But the Ukrainian champion is unconcerned by Joshua’s plans to change tactics for the fight and is prepared for any version of Joshua next year.

“I am not sure who will train Joshua for the rematch,” Usyk told DAZN. “I have seen the speculation about who he may hire for next year but it does not matter to us who trains him.

“Our goal is to be prepared for everything and I train to improve my own chances, not based on my opponent.

“He also promised to be more aggressive and dangerous in the rematch. If that is the case, great. I’d be glad to experience that side of Joshua. I am sure it will be another brilliant fight.”

Rumours have intensified that Joshua has been on the search for a new trainer after he toured America visiting the likes of Eddy Reynoso, Virgil Hunter and Ronnie Shields.

But the 31-year-old would be willing to continue to work with trainer Rob McCracken providing he accepts any new addition to the team.

The rematch with Joshua is likely to hold in March 2022 after the Briton invoked the rematch clause in the contract for the fight.
