Former President of an Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Aka Ikenga,Chief Goddy Uwazurike, has identified non Lagosians but Lagos based miscreants as the group responsible for the despicable ‘Igbo Must Go’ Campaign.

He noted that the campaign has been going on for a long time insisting it is the brain child of those he referred to as ‘borntroway”

Most of these mischief makers according to him have no stake in Lagos and cannot point to a graveside of their ancestors to establish their origin and relevance to the Centre of Excellence.

Uwazurike who bared his mind in an Interview with New Telegraph, described the mysterious but shameless group as pretenders, who claim to be Lagosians, by virtue of the fact that leave there or speak the Yoruba language, adding that real Lagosians are welcoming and accommodating.

He said “This has been going on for a long time and it is being championed by some elements that I want to refer to as ‘borntroway’. In the past, when you go to Osolo Way at the back of Emzor Pharmaceutical, you will see a banner there saying ‘Igbos Must Go.’ They display the banner and then they (the advocates) will then run away. We later discovered that many of these people are not Lagosians.

“These are people who can never point to the gravesides of their ancestors in Lagos. In other words, these people came to Lagos from different states and they are pretending to be Lagosians.

“They do this because they live in Lagos or that they speak Yoruba language. Let me be blunt with you, anybody who cannot show me his grandfather’s grave is a visitor. The real Lagosians are very welcoming.”

Those Sowing Seed Of Discord Must Be Made to Face Full Wrath of the Law

Uwazurike, Primebusines.africa however noted, did not only call for apprehension of such people who sow seed of discord in the state and by extension in the country, but also urged the Lagos state Governor to be forthcoming in making such people understand that the country and society has laws and that such people will be made to face the full wrath of the law.

“The governor of Lagos State needs to state expressly that the government will be cracking down on them.

“He was pressed by the media to say so. He was pressed on a televised interview to say so. The governor is the chief security officer of the state who should ensure that the welfare and security of all residents are guaranteed” he noted.
