This comes as the #Endbadgovernance in the state turned violent.

The governor convened an emergency State Security Council meeting following the violence that erupted during the protest in the state on Thursday.

According to the statement, thugs and hoodlums have taken over the protest in order to start robbing and killing innocent people without cause, making the action necessary to guarantee the complete protection of people and property in the state.

The governor’s spokesperson said the decision to implement a curfew was made unanimously during the emergency meeting.

He said all security agencies have been directed to ensure full enforcement of the order.

“The imposition of this curfew is a necessary measure to restore order and ensure the safety of our communities.

“It is paramount that we protect our citizens from further harm and preserve the sanctity of our state’s institutions and businesses,” Tofa said.

He urged all residents of the state to remain vigilant and peaceful.

Primebusiness.africa had reported that protesters in the state set ablaze a new Digital Park built by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and looted computers, furniture and other valuables in the facility.
