Tinubu’s Slip At Eagles Square Was Mild Misstep - Aide

Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu, on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, has said the president only experienced a mild misstep, while entering the parade vehicle at the 12 June Democracy Day celebration in Eagle Square, Abuja, on Wednesday.

“Mr. President missed his step while climbing into the truck at the June 12 Democracy Day celebration and tripped. It was a mild misstep. He immediately went on with the ceremonial rounds. No issues,” Olusegun stated in a post via his X handle.

Tinubu’s media aide’s clarification was in reaction to comments by Nigerians, on social media platforms, following a viral video that showed the president momentarily losing steps while boarding the parade vehicle. As seen in the video, despite the fall, the president quickly rose up, regained balance, and continued with the day’s proceedings.

The event at Eagle Square, was a high point of activities rolled out for the celebration this year’s Democracy Day, which equally coincides with President Tinubu’s one year in office.
